However one views this film, it's neither a comedy nor a romance. It is, however, a well-crafted coming of age drama, not just of the main protagonist, but his family as well. The deceptively light-hearted opening leads into a complex emotional drama which is both moving and ultimately satisfying.

In Nicolas Tete's "A Skeleton in the Closet", we meet Manuel (Facundo Gambandé)who goes back home for his parents' wedding anniversary but with the ulterior motive for asking for money to move to Denmark with his boyfriend. On his previous visit, he came out to his family and this has caused a bit of unease between parents and son. However, when his boyfriend dumps him, plans change and arises an existential crisis. Instead of leaving home, Manuel's trip gives the family a chance to come together again and for Manuel to realize just how much he loves the family business. While all seems good with the family, it seems that Manuel's brother, a successful tennis player living in Europe, has a secret that comes to light.

Set in Argentina and in Spanish with English subtitles. Here is a look at the bond between parents and children. It surprises us as we think that peace is made in the family after one son's coming out threatened to tear apart. Manuel accepts his sexuality but he also longs for acceptance from his family but he also wants to be who he is. His trip home now with changed circumstancesrebuilds ties, uncovers secrets and allows Manuel to decide what he wants for his future.

The film looks at family conflicts, differences and a place where happiness is found. Nicolas Teté, not only directed the film to being a director, he is also the screenwriter and producer of the film.

"We all have a dead person in the closet or a child in the closet" we see so well here. While this is a comedy in a sense, it is so much more. Most of us will recognize something from our own lives here whether that be self-acceptance or coming-out. We see emotions we have all felt and dealt with. It is not often that I say that a film appeals to me from all aspects but I can say that here. I can't really share the secret because I want everyone to enjoy this as much as I did.
