Reminding one of a sexy and deliciously disturbing Misery-meets-Fatal Attraction, this psychological thriller of an innocent love that goes terribly wrong stars Sean Paul Lockhart (formerly known as porn superstar Brent Corrigan) in a role that perfectly highlights his acting chops.
Truth opens with an imprisoned man - befuddled, but claiming innocence - who is being interviewed by a therapist. Soon, the story of how he got there unfolds. A chance internet encounter brings the cute, affable Caleb (Lockhart) and the hunky, older Jeremy (writer/director Rob Moretti) together. Jeremy seduces the vulnerable young man with compliments, attention and above all, the promise of a secure love.
Caleb, mentally abused as a child by his emotionally erratic mother and now wary of relationships, succumbs to Jeremy's advances and a sensual affair begins. But beneath Caleb's shy smile and innocent eyes lies a troubled young man, and Jeremy harbors his own dark secrets and lies which, together, threaten the relationship. This budding romance soon triggers an unexpected chain of events as trust is violated, tempers unleashed and the destructive side of love takes over.
Lockhart is amazing (and very sexy) in a demanding role that exposes the hidden demons buried deep inside each and every one of us.

Excellent plot, well done storyline, and very well directed, this is definitely one to watch again and again. My only complaint, which was mentioned in another review, was the sound.

I just watched Truth. ?I'm really excited!?Maybe I'm wrong and my bad understanding of English certainly made me lose many nuances of the dialogue, but if I interpret the film, emerges the concept of abandonment.?The mother who has abandons, in his way, Caleb. The fear that Caleb has to abandon the fear and letting go of love. The lack of Honesty of Jeremy with yourself , that incide with honesty towards others. And the abandonment of Jeremy against Caleb.
I can not express well the sentiment that this film has given me, but I find great the sense of loneliness of each character, loneliness caused by the abandonment.
Maybe I said some stupid things, but have patience ... my English is really bad!
Thanks Sean, Rob and all those who made this film possible.

This movie is indeed sexy and suspenseful. The story, acting, and filming are all top rate. My only criticism is technical - very often dialogue is lost. While watching the movie I kept turning up the volume and several times I backed up in order to hear a line I'd missed completely. SPL is successfully transitioning from porn star to real actor.

As a reviewer, nothing is more flattering than being asked to write a first review. This week I have been especially lucky as this is the third first review I am writing. I have followed Rob Moretti's work since his first film, "Crutch" which I loved and reviewed twice (once, the film and once, the director's cut). I had just begun reviewing when I found his film and so it was special for me. Now there is another special film from Moretti and that is this film, a psychological thriller, "Truth".
Directed by Moretti, it stars Sean Paul Lockhart as Caleb who meets Jeremy (Moretti) via the internet and falls madly in love with him. As the guys get to know each other, neither really understands what love is and what lies are. Caleb is not ready to discuss his past or the fact that his mother is mentally ill. Soon we realize that both men have secrets and it is hard to know what love is and what lies are. Caleb is emotionally unstable and when he and Jeremy meet, he does not know that his new lover has his own problems and secrets. Love that at first seems to be innocent soon takes a downward spiral. Told in flashback, we first meet Jeremy as he sits in jail seemingly to not understand what is happening but still claiming his innocence. We, however, are not sure what he is talking about but we slowly learn why he is in jail and how he got there.
When the two men met via the internet, Jeremy was surprised that the young man would be interested in him as he was older. Jeremy was smitten from the get-go and seduces him with flattery and attention. Because of Caleb's emotional state, he was won over. A sexy affair begins and Jeremy promises Caleb a stable love-filled relationship. However, what Jeremy does not see is that Caleb has had a rough time. His mother mentally abused him as a child and he is afraid of getting close to someone much less begin a relationship. Nonetheless, he falls under Jeremy's spell and soon the two men are totally involved. We soon see that Caleb is not alone with his problems and that Jeremy has his own secrets which threaten the success of any relationship. Soon Jeremy and Caleb are involved in a romance that causes a series of events to happen and trust goes out of the window, personalities clash and tempers go wild. What we see here is not so rare - everyone has secrets and demons within.
While I do not see this is as a "pretty picture", I feel that watching it lets me into the lives of those I see on the screen and I have to question whether some of the film is based on truth. Certainly we cannot deny that we all have secrets that we are not ready to disclose but are probably more sensible about dealing with them than the characters here. Both of the actors turn in tour de performances which I believe came from their own experiences which were obviously not as deep as we see here. This is not a movie that we can walk away from-it will stay with us long after we see and that is a tribute to Sean Paul Lockhart and Rob Moretti who turn in unforgettable performances.
