I Am Divine
Wolfe VideoA wildly entertaining and loving look at one of film's most iconic and memorable performers: Divine.
Reasons to Buy
- Packed with celebrity interviews, this doc is both wildly funny and incredibly touching.
- If you don't already know Divine's work, this movie provides the perfect sampler to get acquainted. If you're already a fan (as most gay men are), the film will make you feel like you're visiting with an old friend.
- We're proud to say that we have a connection to the archival footage in the film. Divine visited Philadelphia regularly in the 1970s and '80s - primarily at the TLA Cinema on South Street, where many of the Divine/John Waters films were midnight staples. The footage in the film of her jumping out of a huge paper mache cake was filmed in 1974 at TLA to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Pink Flamingos.
