There are just twelve episodes of this hysterical prequel to the film, Sordid Lives, which we're very excited to be offering to you finally!
Episode One: Peggy is missing. Her daughters Latrelle and LaVonda search for her at the request of her sister Sissy. Peggy's mental patient son Brother Boy is heart-broken to learn that Tammy Wynette has died. Noleta and GW, the couple who live in a trailer next to Sissy's house, fight because he wants to take off his prosthetic legs to have sex. Latrelle's son Ty is in therapy and nervous about auditioning for a gay play.
Episode Two: Tammy Wynette's ghost asks Brother Boy to carry on her legacy, and he has his first session with the new therapist Dr. Eve. Bar singer and ex-con Bitsy Mae Harling introduces Peggy to the local bar. Ty meets beautiful Jacob at the play audition and is confronted by Sara, his ex-girlfriend. Guest stars Georgette Jones.
Episode Three: The family learns Brother Boy is in a coma, and Latrelle steals Valium while they are visiting him at the mental institution. G.W.'s legs are repaired after Noleta shot holes in them, and Juanita tries to win a Willie Nelson radio contest that has been over for two years. Noleta buys rat poison after threatening to kill G.W. or herself. Sara walks in on Ty and Jacob naked.
Episode Four: Latrelle escapes after getting caught stealing pills by Bumper, the security guard. Bitsy learns Glyndora burned down her trailer -- the crime that sent her to prison. G.W. thinks Noleta has poisoned herself. Ty is confronted about his habit of lying and decides to make a change. Dr. Eve explains her dehomosexualization therapy to Brother Boy's family.
Episode Five: Brother Boy wakes up from his coma. G.W. and Peggy's affair heats up as they spend the night at the Galaxy Motel. Sissy and LaVonda are kept awake by the neighbor's pet goat. When it eats her prize violets, Sissy shoots it, and they make it look like the goat was run over. Ty meets Walker, an older gay neighbor, who encourages him to come out of the closet.
Episode Six: Latrelle spies on G.W. and Peggy at the motel while Noleta thinks G.W. is dead because he didn't come home last night. LaVonda pieces together the actual story from everyone in town and then creates an elaborate cover up to protect Peggy, convinces Latrelle she did not see anything and hides the affair from Noleta. She plans a trip to visit Ty in Los Angeles.
Episode Seven: Bitsy and the bar gang decide to storm the church to confront the jury that wrongly convicted her. Brother Boy negotiates with Dr. Eve to continue therapy if he can perform as Tammy. Noleta is convinced G.W. is having an affair and Juanita shows up saying she has evidence of it in pictures. Ty is trying to be honest with everyone, but Sara will not accept that he is gay.
Episode Eight: Bitsy addresses the hypocrisy in the church, and Peggy explains that she took Bitsy in because she was friends with her mother. Brother Boy is having trouble with Dr. Eve's tests. Bumper is trying to find Latrelle to take advantage of her. No one has heard from Latrelle, so Sissy, Noleta and LaVonda go to find her. Peggy meets Juanita to get back the blackmail photo.
Episode Nine: Latrelle comes clean about her pill problem. Jackie, another mental patient, tells Brother Boy she is digging a tunnel out of the institution. Sissy invites Latrelle to stay with her, and Bumper sneaks into Latrelle's house to attack her. Ty is upset over Walker's death while Sara moves in to Walker's apartment. G.W. decides to get rid of Noleta so he can be with Peggy.
Episode Ten: Latrelle, LaVonda and Sissy fight off Bumper and Noleta shoots at him. A petition is started to close down the bar. Noleta thinks she is going crazy after finding evidence of G.W.'s affair that he says does not exist. LaVonda goes to find out if Peggy and G.W. are still having the affair, and she catches Bitsy and Glyndora instead. Sara refuses to see that Ty and Jacob are together.
Episode Eleven: Ty tells Sara that he and Jacob are boyfriends and comes out to his best friend. Brother Boy and Jackie make a plan to get out of the institution by blackmailing Bumper. The Baptists picket the bar and Glyndora moves in with Bitsy after Ritchie beats her up. Latrelle is getting off the pills and Sissy decides to quit smoking. Noleta shoots G.W.'s ear so she can go with LaVonda to LA.
Episode Twelve: LaVonda tells Noleta the truth about the affair, and they arrive in Los Angeles for the opening of Ty's play. Ty ruins his relationship with Jacob by cheating. G.W. proposes to Peggy. Bitsy shares her feelings with Glyndora as they are by Ritchie. Latrelle gets off Valium, and Sissy confesses to killing the goat and is arrested along with Noleta. Brother Boy blackmails Bumper and he and Jackie make their escape.

Thank you TLA for bringing us this bundle of pleasure! While I was doing the laundry, I indulged in a marathon session of watching "Sordid Lives" again (for the umpteenth time). I still find myself giggling and laughing at a lot of stuff. But the real revelation is the view of Jason Dottley's penis in episode 10 at 3:07 minutes. Ty and Jacob are in bed, and Ty rolls over giving a quick view. At normal speed, it whips by almost unnoticed, so use slow motion, or even frame by frame. There are a few frames showing clearly his nearly erect penis.
There are more views of penises in episode 12, where the guys are heading out of the dressing room out to the stage for their nude play. Check out the "scenery" at 9:41 - 9:49 minutes. Then there is the "full Monty" shot on the stage at 10:53 minutes. All of these nude shots must have edited out when it was shown on Logo, along with the curses. Thank you again TLA.

This wonderful series finally found it's way to DVD and into the hands of its fans. This was due to the tireless efforts of series creater Del Shores and his partner, Jason Dottley (Ty in the series). THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Watching this series again makes me wonder how outlandishly fantastic season two would have been.

It's finally here-the series we have been waiting for and now you can get it on DVD. What can I say except that it is a laugh riot and if you loved the movie you will love the series. Beth Grant, Bonnie Bedelia, Olivia Newton-John and Leslie Jordan are joined by new cast member Caroline Rhea and Rue McClanahan in the prequel to "Sordid Lives: The Movie". We get twelve episodes of fun and the hairdos are as big as the laughs. I haven't had this much fun in a long time and this is one DVD (actually there are three) that I have been waiting on. Grab a and a seat and enjoy six hours of fun.
