Bounced from his theater critic job, overbearing, overweight, once-promising poet Ted Wallace (Roger Allam) readily takes a paid assignment to visit the palatial estate of estranged friend Sir Michael Logan (Matthew Modine) and investigate whether Logan's self-involved son David (Tommy Knight) has developed miraculous healing powers. As he moves about the eccentrics who have descended on the home in search of cures, will he uncover the sordid truth?
