This film is typical Joe Gage male porn. What is annoying to me is the crappy, choppy camera work that is normal for a Gage epic. This particular gem has the horny Uncle Pruitt (Mark Kroner)

Now comes the bad part to this viewer. Way too long of the participants jerking off with tedious longing on their faces and waiting and waiting for them to at least touch each other. I have bought several of these so-called Sex File DVD's and it's typical Joe Gage; poor camera work and sometimes not even mentioning who the hell the cast are. In the case with this, I had to do a lot of research to find out who nephew Dave was. RIDICULOUS!

After a fifteen-year hiatus, and a couple of videos about which I know absolutely nothing ("Tulsa County Line," 2001; "Closed Set: The New Crew," 2002), Joe Gage eased back into the directing of gay porn with a series of "Sex Files" (#1, #2 and #3 in 2003, #4 in 2004; he resumed the series in 2010 with #5 and continued through 2017, ending with #24). Unlike the videos that make up most examples of a "numbered series" format, the "Sex Files" series includes several distinctive 'stand-out' videos, and this is one of them. It's well-crafted, and maintains a slow but engaging intensity throughout. It's actually a series of scenes, but they're all pretty similar, giving the impression of continuous action. Each scene starts out with Dave and his uncle whacking off to hetero porn. In the scenes following the first one, Dave's friends start dropping by to join in on the fun, and, in the great porn tradition, each successive scene involves more and more participants, The final scene, that takes up the last half of the video, is less of a group jerk-off session and more of a pants-down neighborhood block party. The title--"Uncle Pruitt Taught Me How to Do It"--seems chosen to be catchy, rather than informative: Uncle Pruitt (Mark Kroner) doesn't teach anybody anything, but he does, let's say, provide inspiration with his extremely luscious dick and balls and his hot-daddy looks. A word to the wise: Sex Files #2 is probably the most concentrated expression of a collection of fetishes that seem to be very personal to Joe Gage, and that appear at the core of most of his videos: men who stay partly clothed (i.e., no total nudity); who concentrate on jerking themselves or each other off, or blowing each other (i.e., no ass-fucking); sex that is entirely a matter of 'doing it because it feels good' and that is entirely outside any identification with either straight or gay sex (i.e., there's not supposed to be any contradiction between watching hetero porn and enjoying sucking your fellow man's cock and watching him cum). Gage obviously thinks this is all very hot, and the passionate intensity of his film-making undoubtedly emerges from the expression of his personal kinks and not from any 'catering to the market.' I happen to like naked ass-fucking, and sex that focuses on an intergenerational daddy-boy dynamic, which is another of Gage's interests and is expressed here through Uncle Pruitt's presence, but isn't a major focus. Anyone who has read my reviews of Gage videos here on the TLA website knows that I worship the man, but I particularly worship the videos of his that appeal to a greater variety of tastes. i.e. mine. Soooo, not a top favorite of mine among Gage videos, for that reason. But if you like all the same things that Joe Gage likes, this is THE pure concentrated high-octane expression of that particular sexuality.
