Inspired by "The Twilight Zone," "Tales from the Crypt" and the many horror and suspense-themed EC Comics of the 1950s, writer-director Steven Vasquez (Sideline Secrets, Luna Park, Vampire Boys 2: The New Brood) presents four short, punchy "tales or terror" and packs them with tons of young, drool-worthy twinks - who aren't the least bit shy about shedding their clothes for the camera.
Southern newcomer Cory Tyndall hosts the proceedings and also stars in the first introductory short, Forever Mine, as one of two boys in a heated, but potentially dangerous relationship.
The second short, A Mind of Their Own stars Brandon Rife as a cocky twink who thinks his boyfriend might be cheating. While investigating, he meets a mysterious, but oddly familiar stranger (Edward Gutierrez) and discovers a magical, delightfully antiquated device that brings untold pleasures to those who know how to use it.
Unsolved Christmas, by far the funniest entry, uses hilarious Seussian narration to tell the story of Zack (Edward Gutierrez again), a horny teen who gets a camera for Christmas and starts using it to take naked pictures of all the other gay boys at school - including new kid Christian (Tyndall) and his best buddy and secret crush Sander (Aleksandr Dissan).
The last story, The Way to a Man's Heart, is the most "Crypt"-esque. Hotties Addison Graham, Alderic Vitale, Tony Roehl and Brandon Rife (again) star in this mystery about a young guy who gets revenge from beyond the grave on the one-year anniversary of his death. If you didn't think you could get turned on by a zombie, think again.
One of Eroddity(s) charms is the fact that it never takes itself too seriously. It's fun, frivolous and far more clever than most of the sex-drenched erotica you're likely to see. Anyone seeking genuine scares or believable performances is encouraged to look elsewhere. These shorts are unpredictable and often very funny, but never truly macabre. The actors, mostly unknown and inexperienced (though a few also pop up in Sean Paul Lockhart's Triple Crossed), give standard softcore-caliber performances - but you'll hardly mind once they drop their clothes give us a glimpse at the goods. Lucky for us twink lovers, the nudity and boy-on-boy action is nearly constant!

I was disappointed with this movie. There is only brief full frontal nudity. The guys seem somewhat embarrassed and often cover their genitals with their hands. In on scene a twink is giving oral sex to another guy and the receiver has his leg hiked up to hide the action. The simulated sex is poorly done. All in all, if you want to watch a group of "cute" guys acting poorly in boring skits, this is the movie for you.

This anthology was amusing and cute. Twinks or not, some of the sex scenes were rather erotic. I like story anthologies, the horror ones, Tales from the Crypt/ Hood, etc. I like those a lot. These stories should be included in a gay themed format as well, horror of otherwise. Good job, SV! I was impressed, keep it up, the good work, lol!

It's really all about the fantasy.

It's really all about the fantasy.
When we watch a movie, be it Bogey, "Boogie Nights," or "Boobs over Berlin," we are always fantasizing. "What is he REALLY like?" "What made her like that?" And, of course, "I bet he'd LOVE being in bed with ME."
"ErOdditys," a handsome new film from Stephen Vasquez and Babaloo Studios, takes fantasy to a whole new level. In addition to our own fantasies, this not-so-veiled tribute to "The Twilight Zone" lets us in on the fantasies of the characters we see. A lot of the action concerns what THEY fantasize about.
There are four stories in this hour-long show. The first, "Forever Mine," starts right at the top of the show, before the opening credits; you should be prepared to follow the story the minute you start the DVR. We meet two young lovers, and one of them says the relationship has to end. All I can say (it's a VERY short story, and I don't want to give it away) is that complications ensue.
After the opening credits, we see "A Mind of Their Own," in which a magic video recorder and a magic mixtape produce unexpected pleasures for those who possess them. In "Unsolved Christmas," a young voyeur receives a camera for Christmas from his strict Baptist parents. You can only guess what THAT camera is used for.
Finally, in "The Way to A Man's Heart," a teenager, who may have committed suicide, comes back to life in the dreams of one of his former friends.
Writer-Director Vasquez has used what I suspect was a limited budget on production values. Everything here is beautifully photographed, classically edited, splendidly set and framed. I suspect that Mr. Vasquez could be compared to Alfred Hitchcock, in that if you have a good story, the acting will take care of itself.
The acting ? a repertory company that includes Brandon Rife, Cory Tyndall (who also covers Rod Serling's duties), Addison Graham, Zach Nelson, Edward Gutierrez, Tony Roehl, Heather Paige Cohn (yes, there are women in the cast!), and others ? will never be compared to "Citizen Kane" or even "Star Trek." But the young actors speak their lines and deliver the action competently enough....and they are very good at modeling the latest styles in underwear.
The music is quite wonderful....at the very least underscoring the action, but also actually including an original song or two. I was a little shaken at the use of religious Christmas carols to underscore the "Christmas" story, but that's a quibble.
"ErOdditys" includes generous dollops of skin, all of which we appreciate. But people who think a good movie is 60 minutes of uninterrupted sex photographed in extreme close-up will be disappointed. These are actual stories told by first-rate filmmakers about people we have probably met ? and about whom we've certainly fantasized. And I think that's a real improvement in the genre. I hope we see more "ErOddity" stories, and I can't wait to see where Mr. Vasquez takes us next.

"Errodity(s)" is a series of mini features that allows us to become voyeurs as we peek into the lives of ten young gay men (or as they are more familiarly called "twinks" [although you will be surprised that there is nothing "twinkish about their equipment and how they use it]). We see those young guys in their worlds that are strange, erotic and sometimes supernatural.
"Forever Mine" is about a boy who is confused yet the searches for love that will last eternally. "A Mind of Their Own" is about the closet and why there are some things that should be there. "Unsolved Christmas" is a holiday "tale of woe" in which a young guy gets a very special Christmas gift that he uses on others. In "The Way to a Man's Heart", we meet an abused lover get his revenge from beyond the grave.
When I watched this film, I was surprised at what I saw and for one of the very few times, I did not know how to react. I mean that in a positive way. It seemed to show me the trend that we will see in LGBT movies in the future. Gone are the days in which our films dealt with guilt and suicide and guys having a difficult time dealing with sexuality. The new freedoms that we have achieved mean that we no longer have to hide who we are now. The time has come to celebrate it. This film does just that.
We see full frontal nudity and erections and while the sex is simulated (to a degree), the film is much bolder than we have seen in a very long time. Yet it is tastefully and not pornographic. As I said before, the young men here are celebrating themselves and their sexualities.
The cinematography is excellent as is the music?the actors are cute but obviously inexperienced. The nudity is really shocking especially the hard-ons as is the sex but it is not gratuitous and does move the plot. I suppose we might consider the film to be something like paranormal which is a big trend in gay writing now.
So I come to end of my review and not finding a way to close it. The initial shock of what I saw here is beginning to wear off as I try to think into which film genre fits. Maybe some of you can tell me that.
