Szabi (András Sütö) is a young Hungarian on a German soccer team. After a fight with his best friend Bernard (Sebastian Urzendowsky), Szabi decides to return to Hungary to fix up a countryside home he inherited. There, he meets Áron (Ádám Varga) and a mutual attraction ensues. But when news of their love affair spreads around their homophobic small town, the boys find themselves in great danger. To make matters worse, Bernard also shows up and a turbulent love triangle develops. With exceptional performances and evocative visuals, Land of Storms is a deeply affecting drama. It's also practically dripping with homoeroticism! Those soccer uniforms made us break a sweat.

Reasons to Buy

  1. Mmmm... Sexy, sweaty soccer boys.
  2. Land of Storms is an intense, sensual drama about a young man's sexual awakening.
  3. It's also about a gay love triangle. It's understandable - we'd have trouble choosing between these boys as well.

This movie is in a long line of other movies that refuse to depict a happy ending as though the gay lifestyle doesn't deserve it. I understand that this was based on some true story but why are all stories true or otherwise about death or disappoint... Read More

Although some scenes I wondered "how did that happen? How did we get here?" the film is well acted, is a haunting story, and is beautifully filmed. Finally a movie worth paying for! I strongly suggest this film.
