Go Go Crazy

Drag queen extraordinaire Hedda Lettuce traveled down the turnpike to star with a cast of hunky unknowns who flex their muscles, shake their booties, and plot against the others all in an effort to win the coveted "Stripper of the Year" title in Philadelphia. And they'll do whatever it takes to win.

Writer/director/producer Fred M. Caruso (The Big Gay Musical) gives us exaggerated stereotypes who we love to hate: naive straight-acting Ken (Eric Spear); evil but cute twinkie Chase (Paul Cereghino); "Jersey Shore" killer-body Vinnie T (Nick Kenkel); exhibitionist "straight" guy Connor (Ryan Winish); and "gay-for-pay" Russian ballet dancer Kiernon (Michael Cusumano).

Testosterone rises, tempers flare, and clothes are shed as comedy turns to nastier antics in the dressing room and hilarious performances on stage - making for a genuine laugh-out-loud experience. A clever parody of reality TV, celebrity judges, and behind-the-scenes interviews with contestants are the film's genuinely funny high points. Despite hilarious attempts to sabotage the show, the winner takes all with a very happy, but surprising ending.

On the festival circuit now and scheduled for DVD release by Breaking Glass Pictures, "Go Go Crazy" is an independent film that is about a strip contest at a Philadelphia ("the taint of New Jersey") gay bar. We go in front of and behind the scenes with the five twinks who compete. Fred M. Caruso who both wrote and directed the film allows us to forget who we are and just have a good time.
Hedda Lettuce emcees the contest and she can make remarks like you have never heard before. The five contestants represent gay stereotypes and all of us will someone we know as we meet the contestants. The plot is just fun and this is the kind of movie that allows you to enjoy yourself without having to think too much. There is a lot of dancing (in Speedos) as each contestant tries to impress the judges.



Nick Kenkel is Vinnie who yearns to be a "famous Karaoke singer" (the boy has rough goals) and he loves to show his body. Straight Connor (Ryan Windish) is a looker with a girlfriend and a very large penis (so he says) but he tries a bit too hard to convince us that he is straight (we all know someone like that and it is so interesting that guys like this are always exceptionally well hung-or so they say). Cute and twinky Kim (Eric Spear) wants to be a dancer and he even collaborated with his mother who would tell his father that he was at Little League practice when he was actually at dancing school). He loves show tunes and to bottom. Chase (Paul Cereghino) was raised Amish yet he always know he was gay and you can't help but compare him to that star of "Saturday Night Fever" and "Grease". Finally there is Kiernon (Michael Cusimano) is a ballet dancer originally from Georgia (not the state) and claims to be married but he is the most feminine of the bunch.

The prize for the winner is a thousand dollars and the panel of judges is as wild as the contestants. Hank (Rick Crom) owns the club (and therefore he wears what he wants and he sports a really bad "rug" on his head) is a one of those guys that sleazes when he walks and uses his employees for sex and thinks he can do the same with the contestants. Tina Perkins (Christina Bianco) is an impressionist-her three greatest impressions are (you know it) Judy Garland, Celine Dion and... Baby Jessica. The other judge is the current title holder, Blake Goldenrod (Jake Steele), who while wonderful to look at, is just a total disaster.

I am sure that you can figure out what kind of contest this will be as we have all of the elements for fun. There are lots of laughs and some good looking men to ogle.
