This year, one of my resolutions is to try new things. For many, routines can get boring and stale, and venturing outside of your comfort zone isn't exactly the easiest thing to do. If you're like me and have only ever seen sex clubs in movies and porn, this may just be the perfect solution. BJ Productions's The Sex Clubs of New York City: The Training Zone takes you behind the doors and into an infamous institution for some serious bathhouse bondage and kink . Even though most of the clubs of yesteryear have closed down, we've still got a chance to experience some of the depraved sex. Yes, Zone DK has always catered to the leather crowd within the underground world of New York City 's sex clubs, but don't let that scare you away. A pair of chaps, a ball gag and a leather harness never hurt anyone. At least not unless he asked for it.

Rick Bolton's bondage-and-discipline films tended to be rather hit-or-miss, with some seeming downright silly: twinks who are obviously following instructions to bully a sub, but whose hearts aren't really in it, etc. This one's an exception. There's a bit of a frame-tale about a kid fresh from the country, but it mostly looks like they just set up a camera and filmed a group of leather men doing what they do (or did). It's nothing spectacular but it has the feeling of reality about it. Those nostalgic for the days of the NYC leather clubs, or those who were born too young for them but are curious, will find this disc worth a look.
