You Are My Sunshine

Set in both the 1970s and the present day, You Are My Sunshine tells the story of one gay couple's love as it stands the test of time. Joe is a shy young man living with his father and sister in rural England. When he meets the playful Tom at work, there is an instant connection. Tom's charming nature helps Joe come out of his shell, even though the queer civil rights movement upsets his family. While Tom and Joe, in their youth, worry about their love being discovered, the men deal with health issues and continued family strife in the present. You Are My Sunshine is a deeply moving gay romance about relationships and family that in the very best traditions of British cinema is heart-warming and heart-breaking in equal measure.
