I found nothing appealing about this movie at all. Even Addison Graham, who could be engaging - I really haven't seen much of him - is only in it for about a total of a minute, completely soft.
Oh yeah, there is a little mountain scenery, but now is that what you buy a porno for?
Save your money, spend twice as much and get a real movie with a decent script and acting, or buy one of todays pornos with the same old tired scenes of hours of fucking.

OK. So I'm a sixty-year-old gay man. But I still like watching young flesh. Problem is, most "gay" movies still fall into two categories:
1.) "Porn" film-making, which generally has no plot. Recent exceptions are largely limited (at least to my knowledge) to Jake Jaxson and Cocky Boys studio, which have started producing gay pornos with a real underlying plot. Problem is, there's still way to much vanilla sex to keep these movies interesting.
2.) "Legitimate" film-making, in which too much is censored. Full frontal nudity usually exists (if at all) only for a moment, and poorly lighted at that. Real sex almost never occurs.
So here's my frustration: I want to see legitimate films (non-porno-based) which show full frontal male nudity and uncensored sex whenever it is appropriate to the plot. For me, if I'm watching an engaging movie and then I start to realize that the nudity/sex is censored, it really detracts from the movie.
I think that Steven Vasquez' movies have come closer to this than most other filmmakers' have. This is the first movie he's made which truly shows uncensored sex (at least oral and masturbation) when it fits into the plot, without boring us with endless gratuitous sex.
As such, I consider it a giant leap forward in gay filmmaking, and I believe that Mr. Vasquez should be commended for providing us with this video!

One of the things I like most about DVDs from Babaloo Studios is that there are stories in them. I like the fact that the actors are actually acting, having relationships, being people.... as opposed to simply stripping, pairing off and having at it.
"Counselor Week at Camp Liberty" is the latest from Babaloo and its producers, Steven Vasquez and Ward Bodner. It's a short film based on a short story, "Andrew, Jack and the Patriot Act," by Chica Gomez. The premise is entirely predictable: nine hot young guys are employed in one capacity or another at California's "first-ever gay summer camp," and they're spending a week at the camp getting to know each other before the campers arrive. (This, of course, allows for a sequel when the campers DO arrive.) Before the opening credits two campers take a naked hike and do what comes naturally, and after those credits a camp employee takes way too much advantage of a couple of counselors, much to our delight.
While Director Vasquez makes a valiant effort to get something about the Patriot Act ? or at least patriotism ? into the film, trust me when I say it is not about politics. It gets nice and dirty nice and quickly. The counselors DO get to know each other quite well.
Many of the young cast members will be familiar to fans of the Babaloo oeuvre: Brandon Rife (now blond!) as Andrew, a new counselor, Addison Graham as Calvin (don't you love it that characters often seen in underwear are named Calvin and Andrew!), and Edward Gutierrez are returning Babaloo veterans. New, at least to me, are Gregory Michaels, Daniel Johnson, Connor Kuhn (as Teddy, who is often naked, often in the shower, but is never seen without his glasses), Zack Sleigh, Dustin Schroeder, and Damien Z. Cory Tyndall, who has previously appeared on camera, is now listed as producer and narrator.
Erotica fans will be delighted to know that within 38 minutes there are three extended sex scenes and a couple of shower scenes. Extra credit for the writers for cramming in so much skin and still keeping to a narrative! The scenery is gorgeous, and the photography and editing are for the most part first-rate.
"Counselor Week at Camp Liberty" is available through TLA Releasing, Babaloo's longtime distributor. Keep 'em coming, Babaloo!

Gay -away (-around) Camp

I had the distinct honor of having a look at "Counselor Week at Camp Liberty" before it was made available to the public. While it is not the kind of film I would choose for myself to watch, U definitely can see how younger gay men will be drawn to it. The idea for the plot is clever-an camp for gays-a place where they fish, play, cruse sex away from the rigors and rules of city life. With that said, you can imagine what gay summer life is like for young twinks with raging hormones. The guys that come to this camp are not what you expect for summer campers. From almost the moment they arrive, they feel sex in the air and act on it. That alone gives us a fun movie but director Stephen Vasquez went a bit further and brought in a plot that involves infidelity and cheating on brothers. Here in 38 short minutes you get more sex and more intrigue than you can deal with.
There is nothing serious here so if you are looking for mental and intellectual stimulation, you have chosen the wrong film. This is one of those films that you will probably forget after seeing but you enjoy at you watch.
Andrew (Brandon Rife) is a new camp counselor who meets camp leader Jack (Gregory Michaels) at orientation at Camp Liberty, one of the few camps designed for gay campers only. He soon discovers that there is more than fishing, sports and campfires. He tries to win Jack over but has no luck and develops a plan. Clothes come up, sex ensues and everyone is happy until the whole blows up. This is little more than uncensored fun so remember that as you watch it. The film is totally uncensored and there is frontal male nudity and sex-for your pleasure.
