An intimate coming-of-age story, Waterberry Tears follows Goyo (Raul Rodriguez), a gay teen in a Mexican immigrant family who lives among the migrant farmers of California's Coachella Valley. He has a hard time hiding his sexual identity from his father Ramon (Juan Loaiza), while secretly hoping for his acceptance. Ramon is not only anti-gay, he is also abusive. Matters get even worse when Goyo and his twin sister Rosa (Mayra Gil) fall in lust with the same guy - a masculine, ruggedly handsome farmhand named Lucio (Daniel Lugo).

  1. This film won the 2011 Silver Palm Award at the Mexico International Film Festival.
