Cut SnakeBy Monterey Home Video
Set in Melbourne in the mid-1970s, Cut Snake, a tense, psychologically-driven crime thriller, tells the story of Sparra Farrell (Alex Russell), an ex-convict who is trying to make a new life for himself in a new city. He has found honest work and even becomes engaged, but the prospect of this new life is challenged when his foreboding and charismatic former cell-mate Pommie (Sullivan Stapleton) tracks him down upon his own release. Sparra finds himself enigmatically drawn back toward a world and a man that he was certain he had wanted to leave behind.
Reasons to Buy
- An intense and electrifying 1970s-set Australian crime thriller with a very prominent gay theme!
- Sullivan Stapleton is tremendously powerful as a macho ex-con who refuses to let go of the romance he had with his younger cell-mate. It's a confident and truly memorable performance that breaks the mold.
- Cutie-pie Alex Russell ain't bad either. He plays the younger former cell-mate - torn between his plans to "go straight" and the hidden desire he has for his former lover. The two men create a palpable homoerotic tension that blows everything else off the screen.
