Raging Sun, Raging Sky is a passionately symbolic exploration about love, sex and destiny. Kieri and Ryo, two young and handsome Mexican men have an unquestioning love for each other; a love that gives meaning to their lives and is expressed through intense sexual bonding. But when Ryo is , Kieri begins a journey to find his soul mate while under the watchful eye of a female spirit named Corazón del cielo (Heaven's heart). She leads and protects the lovers on their quest to reunite. But the journey is not an easy one and when Ryo escapes, a chain of events will test the lovers' devotion to each other.

I read the synopsis and it doesn't match the movie I saw. There was no need for subtitles since there was no dialog. Why was half the movie in b&w and half in color? What was the purpose of the woman at the beginning? I watched this when I first bought it and again recently and I still don't understand it. At least it had some nudity in it's favor because it had no story.

This is a film that had better play up the male nudity (what little there is of it) because that's about all it has going for it. What passes itself as an "art film" was, to this viewer, a drab, disconnected series of rambling scenes leading to no conclusion. And the naked boys aren't that hot. I my money on this one.

"Raging Sun, Raging Moon" is a long film with a great deal of male nudity. There is not a lot of dialog or plot but it is visually beautiful. Ryo (Guillermo Villegas) is a confused young man who shuffles around Mexico City looking for love. He ends up at a run down cinema and meets the brutish Tari (Julian Olivari). It is in this cinema that sordid sexual encounters take place and reinforce those already held notions of society about gay people. Ryo also meets the good looking and sensitive Kier but he has a hard time shaking Tari off. What results is a conflict that is eventually resolved in an alternative reality which is controlled by a character named the Heart of Sky (Giovanna Zacarias).
Not a whole lot happens but there is a lot to see due the beautiful camera work of Alejandro Cantu. The colors are beautiful even though they are muted and the film seems to enter the stream of consciousness of the viewer. The themes of desire and rebirth are evident throughout and it is the artistic ambition of the director that gives this movie its uniqueness.
