A truly unique collection, this grouping of Asian gay male films was curated by the amazing Frameline San Francisco International Lesbian & Gay Film Festival. Filled with treats from distant Asian countries, the collection also has films from the UK and USA.

Still -- Lucky Kuswandi 2005 15 min. Indonesia/USA

A gay teenager detached from his surroundings, Guy (Jason Woo) runs away from home to escape the idle stillness of his life. He is unaware of his purpose in life, and is desperate for a human connection, some kind of a substitute for love - something he never receives from his absent, distant father, whom he never fully knows or understands. Guy takes the train towards a beach town and checks into a dilapidated motel, roaming the barely-alive streets aimlessly and cruising through life's clichés only to find discomfort and disillusionment. (No Dialogue)

Last Full Show -- Mark Reyes 2005 18 min. Philippines

A young boy and and older man learn the meaning of love upon meeting at an underground Manila movie theatre. (Tagalog w/English subtitles)

Dissolution of Bodies -- Kevin Choi 2007 13 min. USA

During one intense night of intellectual and physical passion, two strangers attempt to defy the fleeting nature of desire. Will their forbidden union create a lasting romance, or result in just another one-night-stand?

A Crimson Mark -- Hyun-Jin Park 2004 13 min. South Korea

Set during the Chosun Dynasty during a political shift in power, a Chancellor falls in love with a clerk while the Academy debates how long the new King's step-mother may rule in his name. (Korean w/English subtitles)

Yellow Fever -- Raymond Yeung 1998 26 min. UK

A love story set in 90s London, following the life of Monty, a gay Chinese anglophile, desperately seeking his "white knight". A chance encounter with his new Chinese neighbor, Jai Ming, turns Monty's Vivienne Westwood wardrobe upside down. Initially repulsed by the idea of being with his own kind, Monty experiences unfamiliar feelings of attraction followed by reactionary denial and a long overdue look in the mirror at his own inferiority complex. A modern comedy with a dash of camp and a trace of glamour, Yellow Fever is an offbeat and witty portrayal of gay Chinese subculture in a European-dominated society.
