College senior, Olaf 'Gunn' Gunnunderson is head-over-heels in love with his ultra-gay sweetheart Nathan Stanford. The boyfriends part for Christmas break, each returning home to his family. Nathan's cold parents won a trip to Israel, but somehow "forgot" to tell their son. When he hears that he's to spend the holidays alone, he decides to make his way to Wisconsin to be with his sweetie and family. When he gets there, there are a few surprises: Gunn is in the closet; Gunn's mom, Anya is a major Christmas freak who says "Dontcha" frequently; and Gunn takes after his dad Sven - anatomically speaking - a fact learned when Gunn's stoner dad greets Nathan at the door in an open bathrobe. With constant double-entendres flying from Anya's mouth and Gunn Sr. always stoned, no one seems to notice that Gunn is gay and dating Nathan. With the closet walls closing in on Nathan, he decides to flee back to his empty home - the Gunnunderson's are a little too fruity even for him! Giddily exuberant, Rob Williams' latest is not only filled with laugh-out-loud jokes, but also with boys who look oh so cute together. Dontcha think?

THANK YOU for such a wonderful holiday movie! I really needed a good "PICK ME UP" kind of movie as I begin the Christmas weekend and this was WONDERFUL! Fun story line, great tunes and absolutely adorable cast! Keith Jordan is totally spot on in this role ~ made me want to go back to college and date him myself! I hope he continues with acting - I cant wait to see more of him! And the mother =- Kelly Keaton - what a gem she is! I found this to be an entertaining and heart warming movie that will be a TRADITION for many holidays to come!
Ive seen other reviews comparing this to 24 NIGHTS - well, compare no more - MTYTG is 1000% better in every way =- story, acting and production values are over the top excellent!
There are so many Christmas movies out there - gay and straight, that just beat you over the head with either the irony of it all, the ultra despair themes -or the sugar coated perfection of it all - but This one is just a down right FEEL GOOD MOVIE! And that's just what I needed! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! :~)

I honesty can't imagine that this movie wouldn't have some aspect that applies to everyone's life. It's not some cheesy gay sex flick like so many other gay movies that gay guys seems to be more interested in than just romance. This is a romantic film that has drama and love. There are references to sex as jokes and it's actually a very funny movie! Definitely worth buying, because it always leaves a smile on my face!

I am a fan of gay fiction films. There is a lot of movies out that are good if you can look past the poor acting (and I usually can). However, "Make the Yuletide Gay" has it all! A very good story line that keeps you involved with the movie and makes the time go by too fast. The main characters Gunn and Nathan are very convincing of the parts they play as young, gay college students and the different lives we all lead at some point between our personal lives and our family. Add that with a 'too bubbly' mother and a '420' father and the fun just doesn't stop.
Some may not like this film (being a romantic comedy) but after watching it last night, I was ready to start it over (after going through all the bonus features of course). Definitely glad I added this to my collection and I think you will be too. Enjoy!

"Make the Yuletide Gay" A New Hit for Rob Williams Amos Lassen Rob Williams became a hero in Little Rock when we showed his first movie, "Long Term Relationship" some two months ago. He followed that with the wonderful "Back Soon" and "Three Day Weekend" and now he has a really big hit on his hands, "Make the Yuletide Gay". Our hero, Olaf "Gunn" Gunnunderson, is a student who is out and proud (to everyone except his parents) and himself to go back in the closet when he goes home for Christmas vacation. His parents are a strange pair of Midwesterners but when Gunn's boyfriend, Nathan, shows up unannounced, Gunn has to pretend to be something her is not so that he can keep both the relationship with his parents and with Nathan going. There is something about a Christmas movie that makes it endearing. Williams and his partner, Rodney Johnson, felt that since there are so few gay Christmas movies available, that it was time for a new one. Most of us remember going home for the holidays and when you add a gay aspect to that, it becomes all the more endearing. Keith Jordan as Olaf ("Gunn") is a little dreamboat and is excellent as the college student who has to hide who he is. He is able to stay cool around his parents, Kelly Keaton as Anja and Derek Long as Sven. They are very funny and make an ideal couple. When Gunn's mother tries to fix him up with one of the girls he grew up with, we meet Abby (Hallee Hirsch), Adamo Ruggiero is Nathan, Gunn's boyfriend and he is convincing as the poor little rich boy who wants so badly to be loved. The movie is very, very funny and sexy as well but it is the emotions we feel that make this film so special. The film has been received well on the festival circuit and will be released on DVD in November by TLA Releasing. When the film ends, it seems to me that there will probably be a sequel. This is a fun film that will make you laugh as well as give you a sense of gay pride. After all, the Christmas season always brings smiles and with "Make the Yuletide Gay", you can have a little Christmas everyday. Kudos to Rob Williams for giving us another great film.
