But the script, such as it is, really just functions to tie together the sex scenes. It's only fitfully amusing (thanks mostly to indifferent acting), and comes to a dead stop when the sex starts. Wouldn't it have been amazing if real people in real situations--okay, fantasy situations--were having sex? Instead, we get the same-old same old. Unimaginative, unsurpising, and pimpled. Yes, there are more zits in this movie than I can ever recall seeing in porn or erotica. I'm not expecting perfect bodies, but it's very distracting to watch a sex scene and be aware of someone's acne, like, on his butt? Kinda takes the edge off.
I also thought the men didn't relate to each other in bed (or out) the way they do, say, in Cadinot films, where the sex is passionate, magnetic.
As for the orgy scene, it was a total diaster--all these masked guys lined up in a row. Hel-lo? Has anyone heard about blocking a scene? They looked like doofuses.
It's 2005, can't somebody do porn that delights the body and the mind?
This sure isn't even close. It had tremendous possibilities, but failed at almost every level. |

I have to say that I honestly wish TLA never promoted this DVD. I genuinely knew that it would probably be beyond cheesy and a complete waste of $4 (rental), but it was several times worse than I'd even anticipated (and I had set up a pretty realistically low floor). It's sort of billed as a spoof-film, but it's really just a porno without penetration. So it's basically your 3 minutes of back-of-the-neck-hair-cringing (in the bad way) plot, and then way-too-long sex scenes (considering there's no penetration). I say either be softcore or hardcore. This is a very disapointing hybrid. |

Being a huge fan of the original Japanese horror film, Ringu, and even the U.S. remake, The Ring, I couldn’t wait to see the porn parody by Wash West. For those of you unfamiliar with his work, check out The Fluffer, another excellent film. The Hole- Special Edit is a watered down version of the hardcore version, but is still a fun, good-natured flick with plenty of hot guys, naked bodies, and humorous overtones.
The story unfolds as Derec Lang and Josh Hammer, two college jocks, are hanging out watching football no less when Derec asks Josh if he got his email about this video tape going around, an urban legend he believes. Well, it turns out there’s a video tape going around, and after you watch it, in seven days you’ll get a phone call saying, “you’re gay”, and voila! You are. Just then the phone rings and Derec makes Josh face his fear and answer it. You guessed it, the mysterious call tells Josh, “you’re gay”. Before you know it Derec is testing Josh to see if he’s gay, dancing shirtless, kissing him, and so forth, until they both strip and proceed to do the nasty. No explicit shots are shown throughout, just lots of butts, chests, and semi-hard dicks.
The next day Josh realizes he’s gay and in a funny moment he sings a song about being queer. Just then there’s a knock at the door. Tag Eriksson, a hot Swede, is at the door and is investigating the mysterious circumstances of the tape for the San Bernadino Examiner. Josh tells Tag it all started at the Duck Inn cabins and here we get a solo scene with a muscle bound Vince Taylor. Lots of nice close-ups of his ripped body and semi-hard cock in the shadows of the cabin. Before he can get himself off Tag shows up, questions Vince, and as Vince is checking on the cabin the dudes stayed in he notices a videotape on a shelf and grabs it. Tag goes to cabin 13 and plays the tape, a bizarre collection of images and just as it ends the phone rings. “In seven days you’ll be gay”, the voice tells him.
The story continues with Tag continuing his investigation that leads him to the adorable Jason Adonis and Sam Tyson, and even onto New Mexico to the mysterious house on the video. Will Tag find the answers to his dilemma before it’s too late? Will Josh accept his fate at being gay, and will you be the next victim of “The Hole”?
Even though this is a soft-core version it’s a great fun film with an exceptional cast, witty dialogue, and great production values all around. I’m going to go watch the video now… |

I have seen many soft core porn and this one I would concider to be what soft porn should be all the time. I would recommend this movie if you never owned soft porn this is one to at least have in your porn collection. Now, I want to buy the hard core Hole!!! |
