Juan, an older man of Mayan ancestry, falls victim to a mining accident and embarks on a hallucinatory journey in a Yucatan underground cave world. He is guided along by Vera, an attenuated blue spirit. Through an entirely unique series of visual transformations, Juan is catapulted at once into the realm of Mayan mysticism and visions of the future.
