Review

It's refreshing to see a movie where the producers obviously took their time with the plot and the script. The story revolves around Stephanie Swift's character, an aspiring singer who leaves home, moves to the "big city" and tries to make it. Complete with all of the trappings of a typical "small town girl moves to L.A." movie, Stephanie (and Wicked) does a decent enough job of not trying to overdo it, at least in the beginning. She says goodbye to her country boyfriend with one last fuck on the hood of the car, then takes off for the city. She rents a room in a seedy hotel, blah, blah, blah... (You get the idea.) She eventually lands a job as a waitress in a night club, where the other waitresses (Lola, et al) "initiate" her into the team, compliments of a 4-way lesbo orgy in the break room. Some nice anal dildo action and plenty of slobbering on the roast beef. There are a few sub-plots going on - Lola's apparent drug addition (and eventual death), the singer songwriter who falls in love with Stephanie, the seedy bar patron record producer guy-type person, etc... Suffice it to say that you'll actually enjoy watching the movie aside from the normal cock-n-balls routine. I would liked to have seen Stephanie fuck a little bit more in the movie; oh well.

Overall I would say that Makin' It is a strong movie. It fares better than most out there nowadays, so if you are into plot-porn you may want to pick this up. Oh yeah, I hate to say it, but Stephanie should stick to dick, not to singing and songwriting. Not that she was horrible, but she does a much better job taking a fat one in the camel toe than she does tickling the ivories.
