This high-flying kung fu actioner tells the tale of a young man (Liu) who, having managed to escape the evil Manchus, takes refuge in a Shaolin temple where he learns the deadly martial arts and becomes a fighting monk. Finally, he leaves the temple intent on exacting revenge against the Manchus. Aside from its run-of-the-mill story, the film features some well-choreographed fighting sequences. The final death match between Liu and kung fu master Lieh features eye-popping acrobatics and heart-stopping swordplay. In fact, this fight alone makes up for the bad dubbing. (Dubbed)
