Have to agree with Nickster. This movie was horrible. Neither of the leads were believable as straight in any sense of the word. The narrative dialogue was wooden and emotionless. The Story line was absurd. High School. Are you kidding neither of these guys have seen high school in some time, nor did they convey the mindset or behavior of high school kids. The mother barely looked like she was in the mid thirties. I'm not sure what message this movie was supposed to represent but there was no message that I could pick up on. This movie had no real purpose. I also had very high hopes but found it to be a hot mess. I work in mental health and with an adolescent population as I have for the past 15 years. There is nothing honest about this movie. I am immersed in the culture of adolescent behavior and this isn't even a marginal reflection. I think the people that strongly liked this movie liked it for other reasons.....! But if you are looking for a movie with strong characters, good acting, and a believable plot; look elsewhere. If your looking for a fantasy about 2 good looking guys realizing their love for each other with a little bit of skin thrown in you can rationalize why this movie was good. If you want that theme with good acting, plot, etc. Watch Beautiful Thing.

This is a story about a spiraling journey of growth of love and life for two young men in their middle to late teenage years. All the angst and sadness associated with being a teenager is ever present. A twist of nature(gender) is thrown in which makes the film even more engrossing. This film is highly recommended to parents of pre-teens! A FILM WITH A VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE!!!

What a sweet surprise. Not your typical gay movie, or your typical movie in general. Interesting people and locations and very attractive cast. The story involving the old man was very moving and the boy dealing with his past wasn't over done, and felt real.

While on the surface it is a film about hot boys in love and lust, this film is really about the how young people really act. They are not "innocent" but driven by recklessness and desires they don't understand and cannot control. Unlike other movies, this one doesn't set out to shock. I found it easy to relate too even when it got extreme. The photography was beautiful and not in a picture postcard way but in a realistic way that reflected the way these kids live. I look forward to seeing more of them.

A complex and sexy tale of first love, longing and growing up. The actors are excellent especially the two leads and the sister charactor. Not any easy film, if you are looking for simple fluff look somewhere else, but a rewarding and heartfelt story that sticks with you.
