I'm not an indie kinda guy, but I liked it. My boyf noticed lots of film references, I didn't get it. The cowboy was a hottie, but the husband was a real actor. I thought the wife had some awesome moments.

Unless your heart throbs for something as disinteresting to a 10 year old after five minutes of play, keep your money. It truly is a bunch of pop-up book chapters strung along. Low budget, poorly written, and poorly executed whatchamakalit. It truly is a waste of money.

I thought it was very stimulating for a cartoon short storied movie. I think though at the end the real characters should have finished the ending. I enjoyed it for what it was. I was hoping for it to be more 3 dimentional. Yet I could get off watching the movie if I wanted to. I say it is worth it if you would like to say you own a gay cartoon that is x rated!!!

Given the positive reviews I read about this feature in many different forums, I decided a while ago that I wanted to add it to my collection, but the high purchase price put me off. A few days ago, I came across a copy at a video clearance sale, and I was delighted that the sale price (less than $10!) was only a fraction of the list price, so of course I bought it. I had expected a witty gay cartoon, full of bitch one-liners, zings at the religious right and positive affirmation of the gay lifestyle. What I got was 55 minutes of badly animated porno. There was hardly any dialogue (unless you consider grunts, groans and “yeah, baby” dialogue), no plot to speak of, and the X-Rated sex scenes (which comprised 90% of the feature) were absolutely boring. Boring and repetitive. Boring and repetitive and NOT sexy. It’s not a good sign when you repeatedly ask out loud, “When is this thing gonna end?” when the feature runs less than an hour. The narrator does sound a lot like Harvey Fierstein (an African-American Harvey Fierstein) and his narration accounted for 90% of the “wit” (if you think “Oh Mary” and similar lines that went out with Boys In The Band still constitute wit). Let’s put it this way - including tax, I spent a grand total of $7.29 on this film, and I felt cheated.

The House of Morecock is not the last word in animation, but much of it is a humorous satire of suspense and horror movies, and yes, of the cliches of porn. I've watched it several times, and much of it nevers fails to make me laugh. It's unique. There is nothing else available like it.
