Kevin Smith is back in fine form with this new porno romantic comedy. If that sounds like subversive fun, you've got that right. Let's get to the meat right away: Jason Mewes (aka Jay to Kevin Smith's Silent Bob) finally gets to show off his equipment. He confessed to an interviewer to being an exhibitionist. He must be, because his nude scene isn't lit poorly. What female nudity was to '80s comedies, male nudity is to the '00s.

Seth Rogen stars as Zack, a cute, chubby barista at the local Starbucks-type business. His education is being used to make double mochaccinos for yuppie scum. He shares his dump of an apartment with his gorgeous best friend Miri (Elizabeth Banks) who also just barely scrapes by. They bravely attend their 10th high school reunion where Miri clumsily pushes herself on her HS crush played by hottie Brandon Routh. As she gushes over the stud, Zack is chatting with his boyfriend played by Justin Long. He tells Zack how he and the BF make a living -- they make hardcore gay porn -- and they do well with it. Zack and Miri go home, humiliated, but with an idea. How about making a porno movie and making some real money for a change.

Zack writes a campy porn script called Star Whores with characters named R2-Teabag, Hung Solo, Darth Vibrator and Princess Lay-her. There's lots of pressure around the sex scene between Zack and Miri -- and here is where the film veers from comedy to romance. Needless to say everything that could go wrong, does and it ain't pretty sometimes. Totally ridiculous, but sweet as sugar at the heart, Zack and Miri has a great story, perfect comic timing, a long-awaited nude scene and a gay sub-plot where Brandon Routh gets to kiss a guy -- what else could you ask for?
