REVIEW
With more than a little in common with the far more entertaining Demolition Man, this mindless, slowly paced sci-fi adventure casts Washington as a former cop who's now behind bars and is the only one who can track down the nasty bad guy. The latter would be Crowe as a virtual reality villain who has come to life endowed with super powers and is killing everyone in sight. The film attempts to make a comment on violence and our appetite for it in our society, but Virtuosity gratuitously feeds that hunger with ridiculous plot developments, undefined characters and indiscriminate scenes of violence. Lacking originality or excitement, this is by far the worst of the recent trend of cyber thrillers. Editor's Suggestions
