REVIEW
E.M. Forster's classic novel of the sexual awakening of a young woman amidst the emotional repression of Victorian England is brilliantly captured in this comedy of manners. During a trip to Florence, the girl's simmering sensuality is exposed when she meets and falls in love with a free-spirited and handsome young man. The struggle between this love and the expectations of a "proper society" features outstanding performances by the entire ensemble, though Smith and Elliott do steal the show.
