REVIEW
Boccaccio's bawdy and earthy stories of sexual adventures during the 14th century receive the Pasolini treatment. Told in several episodes, the stories illustrate the different facets of uninhibited human sexuality. The film takes special pleasure in depicting the Church's sexually repressed clerics frolicking lecherously amongst their flocks. The Decameron, Pasolini's first film in his trilogy of medieval tales, is perhaps his funniest and is certainly one of the director's best films. (Italian with English subtitles)
