REVIEW
Reynolds and Parton bring a degree of charm to this glossy but uneven adaptation of the hit Broadway musical about a Texas bordello -- called the Chicken Ranch -- run by Parton and under attack by a local televangelist. Burt is the sheriff caught in the middle. Durning received an Oscar nomination for his scene-stealing bit as the Governor.
