In this remake of the classic Night of the Demons it's Halloween night,and a group of friends partying at New Orlean’s notorious Broussard Mansion discover a horrifying secret and unleash the wrath of blood-thirsty demons.

Review

As far as recent horror remakes go, this update of Night of the Demons isn't half bad. It certainly lacks some of the trashy charm of the original, but makes up for it with (slightly) scarier demons and unquestionably better production values. The teens of the original are replaced by a bunch of twentysomethings and the party that starts the whole thing off is much, much bigger, but eventually its numbers are whittled down (thanks to friendly local law enforcement) to the magic number of 7 and one skeleton bite later, the demonic madness has begun.

Adding to the non-suckitude of this remake are solid performances by the hot young cast. Snappy, catty lines of dialogue are delivered with bite and all of the ladies look achingly beautiful (particularly lead actress Monica Keena). We'd pay double for this flick if Ms. Keena were to show us her tatas or even her ass, but alas this isn't the case. Diora Baird, playing the sluttiest girl in the gang, does show us her tatas as she re-creates Linnea Quigley's notoriously awesome lipstick-on-boob moment from the original, although Baird's boobs are no match for Quigley's.

This update doesn't skimp on the gore and, eventually, every character is literally covered with the stuff. The self-aware '80s vibe is replaced by a self-aware 21st century vibe (less kitsch, more sarcasm) and, like many recent horror remakes, the creativity just doesn't match the otiginal, but its fast pace and gorgeous cast almost compensate for that.
