Synopsis

After his wife suffers a near fatal accident Matt King (George Clooney) is left to the nearly impossible task of caring for his two daughters. When one of the daughters reveals that her mother was having an illicit affair before the accident, the entire family sets off on a quest to find the man with whom she was having the affair. All the while King must contemplate what to do with this extended family's birthright: the largest swath of undeveloped land in all of Hawaii. This bittersweet dramedy elicits genuine emotion while dazzling viewers with its strong performances and gorgeous Hawaiian locations.

Older daughter Shailene Woodley pretty much walks away with the whole damn movie thanks to her nuanced, pathos-inducing performance.
There was a pretty strong backlash against this film once it became an award season favorite. We feel that the backlash was unjustified to a certain extent, but you should see for yourself.
