I don't see how any human being can give this movie a bad review based on the fact that the killers get off in the end. They deserved to get off. They were just kids when they made a mistake, they were deeply remorseful for, that almost killed a guy accidentally to land them in a boys reform school. To make matters worse, the guards were perverted scumbags who beaten and molested them the whole time there. Not to mention they killed a kid because of a lousy football game they were pissed off about losing. When two of the boys grew up and finally got revenge and murdered one of the prison guards, it was the highlight of the movie for me. Me personally, I would of emptied my whole clip in the bastard. To top it off, he wasn't a bit sorry for his actions. Tried to excuse everything by saying he was trying to help them and toughen them up. To say he got what he deserved is an understatement, he deserved way more punishment then the bullets holes he was fillled with. Imagine you were one of those boys. Imagine yourself experiencing the hell they went through while there and tell me you wouldn't of shot that motherfucker as soon as you laid eyes on him. I'm glad they got off in the end. Fuck them perverted motherfuckers. Fuck em all and everybody who thinks like them. I believe this was based on a true story too. To me, it's no surprise people can't find any proof. Why would a reformatory want you to know they had molesting pricks as guards of children? This story is so fucked up nobody wants to admit it's true. Truth hurts doesn't it?

Kudos to TLA for calling this film out as the homophobic piece of trash that it is. Before I begin, let me state that in no way do I condone child abuse nor do I excuse the horrible actions of adults who sexually victimize adolescents. But the premise of this film can be simply summarized as the belief that sexual predators deserve to die a violent death and that the perpetrators of such vigilante justice should be allowed to get away with it. The picture disturbed me greatly for its lack of compassion, balance and fairness, as well as the cheap exploitation and ignorance that the script espoused. Kevin Bacon portrays a low-life security guard in a Catholic reform school. He and other guards routinely victimize and intimidate young boys, forcing themselves on the teens in horrible acts of sexual abuse. Years later, one of their victims spots the character played by Bacon in a restaurant and shoots him dead in cold blood. There follows a cover-up at all levels, designed to protect the murderer. To achieve this, a Catholic priest lies in court under oath and a prosecutor plans to lose the case he’s presenting, all on the basis of the idea that the “fag” child molester got what was coming to him. The murderer gets off in a bizarre pervasion of justice, and the mood of the film surrounding this fact is nothing less than celebratory. This picture was bad in a hundred different ways that I found offensive – its premise reflects bad logic, bad judgment, bad justice, bad morals, bad lessons and bad drama; all combined, this made for a film that annoyed me from the first scene forward. The net result struck me as absolutely barbarian, and I was flabbergasted at the fact that such an incredible group of fine actors would lend their skills to this bigoted, puerile garbage. Skip this one, unless you’re a homophobic bigot who thinks it’s OK to take justice in your own hands, and that sexual abuse deserves not only a fatal violent answer by a vigilante, but a cover-up on all levels to protect the killer.
