Cox takes the story of two self-destructive junkies, Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols and Nancy Spungen, and sparks it up with savage energy and sardonic wit. It's no easy feat to romanticize, yet not idealize, these flamboyantly adolescent creatures. In spectacular performances, Oldman and Webb bring a ferociousness to their roles that draws us to this doomed pair, if only to be repelled by their self-absorbed stupidity.
