- Quentin Tarantino
Quentin Tarantino
Not since Terrence Malick has a director gotten so much acclaim for such a small body of work. But far from being idle between films, Tarantino spends his downtime promoting and celebrating new and classic cinema from around the globe, with the words "Quentin Tarantino Presents" seemingly ubiquitous at arthouse cinemas. He burst on the scene with the microbudgeted Reservoir Dogs, leading to his scripts True Romance and Natural Born Killers being produced (by Tony Scott and Oliver Stone, respectively). Tarantino singlehandedly changed indie cinema forever with Pulp Fiction, launching Miramax and the Weinsteins in the process. But he made his best films later, with Jackie Brown and Kill Bill showing the wunderkind at the peak of his powers.
