We’re still recovering from all the fun last night at Table 31. Elliot Loves was a great way to kick off opening weekend. The night was only made hotter by getting our picture taken with Amber Rose. Hopefully you were able to make it to the festivities, but if not there is plenty of fun to be had during the next week.

5:00 p.m. Ritz East Theater 1: Joshua Tree, 1951: A Portrait of James Dean. You’ve heard the rumors about actor James Dean’s sexual activities. Now, this bio-pic explores Dean’s early days during the Golden Era of Hollywood.
5:00 p.m. Ritz East Theater 2: Melting Away. Deep wounds, feelings, and truths are made fresh, when a trans woman returns home after being kicked out years prior from the family home.
5:15 p.m. Ritz at the Bourse: Heavy Girls. Two men bond – and possibly spark a romance – while looking for one’s mischievous mother, who has dementia.
7:00 p.m. Ritz East Theater 2: naked as we came. Director Richard LeMay will be in attendance to discuss the film with the audience and take questions.
7:15 p.m. Ritz at the Bourse: The Wise Kids. After Tim, an aspiring filmmaker, comes out of the closet, sexual identities and repression are explored in this coming-of-age story.
7:15 p.m. Ritz East Theater 1: Cloudburst. Olympia Dukakis and Brenda Fricker star as geriatric lesbians who hit the road Thelma and Louise style in order to get married in Canada.
9:15 Ritz East Theater 2: Jack and Diane. British teenager Diane is visiting New York for a week when she meets tomboy Jack.
9:30 p.m. Ritz East Theater 1: Beauty. As the wedding of his daughter approaches, closeted Francois remains resentful of his past, loveless marriage, and the secret he’s been harboring. 9:30 p.m. Ritz at the Bourse: Loose Cannons. One is good, but two is twice as nice as one family finds out when not one, but two of their sons unknowingly compete to come out to the rest of their family first.
