While simply a chronogical collection of trailers of gay and lesbian films between 1956 and 1976, Homo Promo should be required viewing for all cinematically inclined queers. Without narration or fancy editing, this montage begins with Tea and Sympathy and includes Victim, The Sergeant, The Christine Jorgenson Story, Myra Breckinridge, John Waters' Female Trouble and more. The collection ends in 1976 when the studios began copyrighting their trailers. Despite the uneven quality of some of the trailers, Home Promo works quite well as an hour-long mini-lesson on the history of queers in film.
