Review

Barrymore is appealing in this otherwise mixed-up, where-do-we-go-next romantic/murder comedy. Flyboys and brothers Wilson and Busey buzz their dad in their helicopter, but the old guy dies of a heart attack. It seems he was fooling around and mom (a shrill O'Hara) wanted to scare him. Turns out the girl he was two-timing with is the same person who may have heard the murder on her headphones: burger drive-thru cashier Barrymore. Wilson then begins working at the place to find out what she knows. Okay, class, all who think they're gonna fall in love, raise their hands. There are a few amusing, dark scenes, but mostly this crash course in romantic cynicism runs out of gas way before the inevitable finale.
