Brosnan has some pretty big shoes to fill with this, the 18th film to showcase the exploits of a certain "Bond, James Bond" -- and those shoes fit like a glove. This time, it's personal as Bond goes after an "00" double agent (Bean) who plans to topple the world economy using a pirated weapons satellite (codename: Goldeneye). There are, of course, the usual death-defying stunts, beautiful women and arch humor. But Brosnan makes the film his own, creating a Bond who is more mature and introspective than his predecessors. His 007 is more interested in fighting than loving, much to the dismay of villainous vixen Janssen, and the film's violence is a bit more relentless as compared to the previous adventures.
