Review

Anyone who reads this site on a regular basis knows that I am not a fan of twinks (other writers here cover them), and that solo videos truly work my last nerve most of the time. Sure there are the occasional "goodies" like Bel Ami's 101 Men (the first one or two anyway), or early Colt or Falcon titles, but unless you're an out-an-out solo fan they're pretty useless. The guys never look like they're having a good time, the music used is almost always enough to make you want to knock over your TV, and the camerawork is usually sub-par. I'm happy to report that Young Bazookas rectifies almost every one of these problems. While mostly "all solo," Bazookas serves some hot and hung young 'uns, and some great deep-throating, fluffing and "behind the scenes" stuff, too.

The opening scene is not only the video's best, it's also one of the year's best solos. See that guy on the cover, right in the middle? That's Justin Slater. Remember that name; he's gonna be big if he decides to continue in the biz. (That's his "bazooka" poking it's way up under the title.) With nary a single hair on his taut and ripped body (save for a very trimmed bush and armpit region) nor a blemish anywhere to be found on his translucent skin (save for one adorable birthmark above his left pec, and a small pimple on his forehead) this strawberry-blond had me rethinking my "enough with the twinks" stance.

Justin (being well interviewed by director Ross) talks about his first time with a guy at age 15 (a friend he always wanted). An accomplished erotic artist, we get some refreshingly candid and honest talk from him, touring his dorm. Pretty soon, the clothes start to strip off, and the smacking begins - or so I thought would be the case. Instead, Justin (low voice, ripped, wiry, hung like a yak with big and meaty smooth balls) stretches out on his bed, showing only his Joe Boxer briefs and a raging bulge. Having always been a fan of bulging briefs, needless to say several parts of my anatomy started to perk up immediately.

Instead of the usual "take it out, smack it a bit and blow" routine, we're treated - and it was a treat, trust me - to Justin slowly rubbing his straining-briefs-clad thickening stick erotically looking at the camera like he means it (no fake preening) and giving us a real show. I wanted to start chucking $20s at the screen. Ross uses a great "looking up at it" P.O.V. shot that gave us a full-on view and I couldn't have been happier. Ending in a massive cum dump, it's neither rushed nor faked. "Best Solo Scene" nomination-worthy.

While the rest of the cast's scenes aren't as intensely hot, there are still some gag-worthy pieces to be found here. Shane (18, pierced tongue, average twink build, smooth except for nice hairy legs), while cute, plays it up way too much for the camera, and turns into the preening "look I'm a porn star!" type that make me wanna hit the FF button. His lack of an on-screen cumshot (I checked three times) didn't help matters.

Butch Love is absolutely adorable and I would eat him up in a second. (Ross comments "Oooh Butch, you can get trashy - I love that!" Me too... me too.) He talks about his ex and of his fantasy of getting orally gang raped by six soccer guys (we get a terrific quick glimpse of that) before stripping and smacking. With sexy bedroom eyes and a cute-as-a-button outtie bellybutton, his enthusiasm more than makes up for an above-average session.

Donnie Ross is a very cute faced Italian-looking lad, with an okay twink body and a "make you do a triple take" massive meat sword. I'm talking "knock out a few teeth with it" big. An off-camera fluffer's hand is seen tape measuring it, so you get the proof: a genuine 9" x 7" slab of butt-wrecker. As super-imposed deep-throating footage appears in the screen's upper corners (we see Donnie holding a sign that reads "Everybody Wants to Suck Me!"), Donnie starts moving that pony, leading to a nice load release.

Peter Orlov is a rather pretentious-sounding blonde-streaked Russian twink who, while cute, doesn't do much (and didn't do too much for me, either). After babbling about how Yoga helped his sex life, his average-but-not-anything-special uncut meat is pulled out, and the shank yank begins. With big balls swaying about, he releases an ok load.

Last of the interviewees John gets most of the film's screen time (save for Justin). Don't be put off by the rather unattractive still at the film's beginning: actually quite attractive, this guy has "piece" and knows how to use it. He discusses his first time (at 18), his escorting escapades, and how this is his first flick. We see his "call back" interview, in which the cameraman coaxes John not only out of his bulging jeans, but into giving John some head too - deep throat head at that. John's cock is nice and fat, with an enormous angry vein stretching across it's top. Cut to John leaking lots of precum (yummy!), filming himself getting sucked, some test photos, and his eventual solo that ends in a nice load.

Now before I make this all sound like the second coming of the Lord, there are a few problems, no question. One is the editing. It's a bit choppy, and the inclusion of open-mic interviews spliced with non-mic stuff is distracting. Secondly, some of the lighting was a bit harsh, showing off some unsightly razor burns. And while I'm sure someone out there is quite proud of the music (credited to the Suckpuppets), it ran the gamut from nice background to nearly unbearable. (Whoever thought that the flute-laden Titanic-like interlude segueing into tribal beats was pleasant was sorely mistaken.)

Still, Justin's solo alone makes Young Bazookas worth getting (and elevates it above the strong three-star endorsement I would've given it anyway), especially if twinks put the tingle in your pingle. Get it - your own bazooka will be most grateful.
