I want my 3.99 and 90 minutes of my life back. What's the good of filming a movie if you can't see anything? There are long periods where the screen is black, and then there are moments when the view of the actors is completely obstructed. There's no story line at all and the dialogue was worthless. This was a complete waste of time, money, and film.

What little of the film that is not in blackout is mostly Peres talking and self-absorbed. Schlutt gives his all but against the bombast of Peres, it is lost. Save your money. Mary Poppins is sexier>

This film can only be described as "avant garde" or off-beat. There are periods of blackness on the screen where the actor and the director, who co-stars, cannot be seen. There really is no script and after a fashion it simply gets tiresome. My motto is "life is too short for bad movies." This DVD went into my shredder after I viewed it so that I won't make the mistake of viewing it again.

“Unfaithful” is like no movie you have ever seen before. It is loaded with intimacy. The director gives us a gem of a movie and I am not sure we know what to do with it. The plot is rather simple or so it seems at first. Claude Peres (who is also the director) invited Marcel Schlutt to make love to him. They had never met before and they were not sure if they even liked each other. They met in a flat and were alone for one night. Peres decided to record the session. Since there was no contract and no obligation, the two men could say and do what they wanted.
In a move like this intimacy is expected and intimacy there is. The entire set up for the film is sexy if you just think how you would react to someone who just tells you out of nowhere that he wants to have sex with you. Strangely enough I did feel like a voyeur because by watching the film we feel as if we were invited to watch. In fact as the actors become more intimate, we also share in that intimacy. The duo becomes a trio with the viewer as the third person. We sense and feel the desire between the men and almost feel like stripping when they do. Even when no words are spoken between them there is a lot said.
So what is this film about? I suppose it is about the relationship between two men—one an actor and the other the director—one thinks he has power and the other thinks he can handle that power and this is something we often find in relationships. When Peres asks Schlutt to have sex with him, it is if he is asking his fantasies to materialize. Peres made this film without knowing if Schlutt was going to agree to have sex with him and that is what makes this film unique. There was no script and the direction happened when the action began. Is this radical film or just a provocative exercise in film making? I just don’t know but it is certainly an interesting excursion into the world of male/male sex. As I Have said before about other films, this is a total experience and will, without a doubt, leave you wanting to see more. If anything this is a very difficult film to review and I am not sure that what I have written here is a review but it is how the film struck me.
