Review

Set in an all-girls' Catholic boarding school, this milestone film is a tender glimpse at the erotic affair of two young women. Unlike many other works of the period, this provocative drama offers a non-exploitative picture of budding female sexuality, some very hot love scenes and lots of schoolgirl emotional tension. With voice-over narration taken directly from Viloette Leduc's autobiographical novel, the film is genuinely sweet in spite of a lingering Euro soft-porn atmosphere.
