The clock is ticking!
Blackmailed by Jake's nemesis - the vengeful Pierre Perron - Professor Fathom's team of gay adventure-hunters is sent on a seemingly impossible mission to uncover the legendary Riddle of the Sands in order to save one of their own from a rare and deadly poison.
But what is the Riddle of the Sands? Where are the long-lost clues and hidden maps that lead to its whereabouts? Is it a myth, a mirage, or the greatest engineering feat in the history of ancient Egypt?
From the icy plains of Siberia to the shadowy bathhouses of Cairo, from the scorching valley of the Nile to the heart of the Amazon jungle, join New York adventurer Jake Stone, Brazilian biologist Eden Santiago, Texas cowboy Shane Houston, Italian art expert Luca da Roma, and Californian college quarterback Will Hunter in the heroic adventures, hunky sex, and hot, high-octane action of The Riddle of the Sands.
Professor Fathom and his team of sexy, gay, smart, badass boys are on the search for the Riddle of the Sands. One of their handsome young friends is poisoned by the evil Pierre Perron and the only way to get the antidote is for the men to find a centuries-old pyramid hidden underground and rumored to be filled with treasure.
Challenged with evil skulking men with blow guns and man-eating plants, the team tracks a path around the globe, to Egypt. Along the way their libidos get the best of them and the result is some very erotic action. Speaking of action, this novel is packed with it. Snake pits and alligators are just the beginning.
Men die, men get laid and men fall in love all while trying to find something that may, or may not, exist. What they find is more than even they were prepared for.
Riddle of the Sands is perfect for someone who wants a light, fun, rough-and-tumble adventure. You won’t get too invested in these hotties but you will be rooting for them until you turn the final page. And since this is part of a series, you have their next adventure to look forward to.

The premise of this book is very appealing but its execution is juvenile at best. It reads more like a bad made-for-tv movie script.
The character development is reserved for the end of the book, while the first chapter has no other purpose but to introduce us to only two of the characters. No other useful information is provided. (Again, kind of like what you see in B movies.)
While the sex is hot, its positions in the story are jarring. Especially when you find out that in one case it is performed, willingly of course, on a barely legal character by his college professor. (Okay, we're talking fantasy here, but still.) More than once I began to wonder if these guys weren't just sluts.
The author's ability to verbally draw a picture is definitely limited. "The ocean was a dark, sinister gray ... ." "It was a dark and stormy night," anyone? And he deftly rips images from other well known works; poisonous snakes crawling out of holes in the ceiling and walls, pyramids appearing and disappearing in the middle of the desert, and so on. And while I'm at it, the author's idea of expanding the horror factor is multiple encounters with terrifying crocodiles.
In the hands of a seasoned author or editor who cared this story could have be a real treat. A pot boiling pot boiler, a rip snortin' good read. Unfortunately, it fails and disappoints on almost every point. Also unfortunately, I will not be looking forward to nor reading any of this author's future works.

Could not put it down, it was a cross between Hardy Boys, and Indian Jones. Excellent story line.
