When a half-century old skeleton tumbles out of the wall in the midst of the renovation of Cloak and Dagger Bookstore renovation, Adrien turns to hot and handsome ex-lover Jake Riordan - now out-of-the closet and working as a private detective. Jake is only too happy to have reason to stay in close contact with Adrien, but there are more surprises in Adrien's past than either one of them expects - and one of them may prove hazardous to Jake's own heart.
I am going to state from the start that I am a big Josh Lanyon fan so you know that I am going to give this book a good review. It is a somewhat hard review to write because this is the fifth and final in Lanyon's Adrien English series so for me it is kind of like losing a friend. Lanyon created an amazing character in Adrien. But now he is tired and this is a fine end to the series. Everything is wrapped up fine and tied with a big bow. I have been trough a lot with Adrien and as hard as it is to say goodbye, Lanyon closes the series in a way that almost makes it painless to do so. I still want more and maybe one day I'll get it but for now this is it.
A fifty year old skeleton is found during renovation if Cloak and Dagger Bookstore and Adrien looks to his ex-lover now private detective Jake Riordan and we are off on another adventure. Adrien is in the process of recovering from heart surgery and from having been shot. Jake has just divorced his wife and retired from the police force and come out to his family. The two men have been through a great deal together. Adrien is also afraid that giving himself to Jake once again will only bring heartache.
The dead body can prove dangerous to Adrien and Jake but that is all I am going to say about the plot. To discuss anything would ruin a great read. Let it suffice to say that Josh Lanyon is one good writer and if you have not read him, you should
