Francois Pignon (Auteuil) is a boring accountant who lost his wife to boredom, his son has lost interest in him, and he about to be fired from his job at the condom factory because he is so uninspired. When his new neighbor suggests that he create a fake "coming out" to stave off his job problems, he reluctantly agrees. Not only does Francois keep his job, but he thrives as a new "out gay man". He sits on a float in the gay pride parade and his son now considers him a hero. He is offered a promotion at work and a former homophobe, Felix (Depardieu) appears to have fallen in love him! This comedy of errors is a French "Boulevardier" - comedy for the masses using the new tolerance for gay people as fodder for the laughs. Not a particularly original film, but enjoyable - and certainly pro-gay. (French with English subtitles)
