Review

An excellent adaptation of John Grisham's novel about the suicide of a mob lawyer that was witnessed by a young man played by Brad Renfro. Sarandon stars as a struggling Memphis attorney who sees a golden opportunity walk in her door in the person of a young boy -- a witness to the suicide of a mob lawyer -- who hires her to help keep the Feds off his back. Of course, the bad guys show up, and the little guy finds himself on the run from both relentless G-man Jones and villainous underworld kingpin LaPaglia. Renfro shines as well as Sarandon in a gripping thriller.
