A very sweet romantic comedy with lots of camp and Singapore's John Travolta! Hock works at a menial day job and dreams of riding his own motorcycle with the wind blowing through his hair. His brother, Leslie, is their parent's dream son, going to medical school and doing what he can to please his parents. The movie moves with breakneck speed, a characteristic of movies from this part of the world. At Leslie's birthday party he announces that he intends to have surgery to become a woman, and he is disowned by his father. Hock studies dancing with his platonic friend Mai in order to enter a dance contest. When he wins, as he must in this simple sweet film, he gives the money to his beleagered brother to get his sex change. The transgender sub-plot is handled with grace and pleads for acceptance.
