Review

Tantus is known for high quality toys and this is no exception. The packaging for the Tantus Beginner Ball Gag is pretty simple: the front is transparent to view the toy easily and care instructions are on the back. It's also labeled clearly with the fact that it's 100% silicone, is manufactured 100% green, is non-toxic and phthalate free. Last but not least, this package is easy open. Nothing sucks more than a plastic package that almost has to be opened with a chainsaw so easy open is a very good thing.

The ball gag is odorless and pre-assembled in the package but I took it apart to see just how easy or difficult it would be to get the straps on and off. Disassembly and reassembly was a cinch. The ball itself is matte black and has a contoured "lip" to prevent it from going in further than a beginner could handle. Each side of the lip has an opening to attach the straps. The straps are leather and are snapped to each side of the ball. The straps sport Velcro closures for quick and easy adjustment. I could see the Velcro occasionally nailing someone's hair but what's an itty bitty hair yank between kinksters?

Anyhow, after blindfolding my bottom I decided he would be my guinea pig for this. I shoved it in his mouth and made sure it sat comfortably. I then closed the Velcro straps and sure enough, it got caught in his hair... bonus for sadistic little me. At first the "lip" of the gag being outside was a little off putting, kind of like looking at an adult with a giant black pacifier; it most definitely does not have the look of the traditional ball gag. It made me laugh but was not going to take the kink out of the scene.

After our fun I asked sub-boy what he thought. He's used to bigger things in his mouth, e.g. my cock, but said this ball gag was a comfortable fit, meaning no discomfort post-gag and he felt the design was instrumental in that. He felt no slippage around his head and agreed it is great for those who like occasional kinky play and those who are in training for heavier play. He wished this gag had been available when he had his first twisted experience.

Cleaning was incredibly easy. I unsnapped the ball from the straps and placed it in the top wrack of the dish washer. I used a bit of leather cleaner on the straps because I'm anal that way. When the ball was done in the washer, I re-assembled and tucked it into my toy stash.

Like my sub said, this is a great ball gag for those who like to play occasionally and those in training for something bigger and better. It's also great for ball gag pros who just aren't feeling like shoving something that takes a lot of effort into a mouth.
