Review

This shorts collection is wonderful and marvelously entertaining. I highly recommend it for your queer DVD collection! The success of the shorts speaks for itself, as they've traveled the world in film festivals (several have played in Philadelphia's fests, including this year's Qfest). The dramatic shorts are great, but I think the collection really shines with its comedies. Babysitting Andy is a down-right riot, and I absolutely love that the babysitters are two gay men with disabilities – a plot point that is important, but at the same time very nonchalant; it's refreshing, to say the least. Don't Mess with Texas is also hilarious and very surprising – one of my favorite shorts that played in Qfest this year. I must indulge that I helped program the shorts program for this year's Qfest, and I have to say that these shorts really are the cream of the crop in the lesbian shorts world – which is bigger than you might imagine. If you're a queer film buff, you love shorts and/or dvd collections, or just you just plain old love seeing a good movie (albeit a short one) you really are doing yourself – and these extremely talented filmmakers – a favor in purchasing this collection.
