Synopsis

Afdhere Jama is a powerful new voice in the world of LGBT cinema especially in that he deals with controversial subjects. Members of the white LGBT community often have difficulties in adapting to the way mainstream society looks at us but we rarely stop to think how others—the people o color, deal with similar situations. Here Jama deals with relationships and his characters are no way near mainstream yet the issues o love and loss are the same.

Jama himself is Somali born and a modern Muslim so he knows these issues first hand. He introduces them to us and indeed gives us something to think about. This film is about a breakup and the rebound that follows and is very, very real. Everything here is excellent—from the plot line to the character development but more than anything else, Jama takes us to a place where new films go.
