The landmark gay British TV series concludes with this incredible feature-length follow-up. The ever-adorable Nathan (Hunnam) returns from London to again cruise the bars and clubs of Manchester's Canal Street with Stuart (Gillen), Vince (Kelly) and all the boys from our favorite, highly addictive soap.

While certainly no less provocative and controversial than its predecessor, Queer as Folk 2 opens with Stuart and Vince as two thirds of a threesome – potentially answering the "will they or won't they" question raised in the end of the first part's last episode. And while Vince and Nathan each still pine for Stuart, and Stuart's flair for manipulation has only become nastier, some things have changed. All three friends face a new challenge as they realize they are getting older and growing up. Stuart must deal with an unexpected blackmailer. Vince, up for a promotion at work, receives help from his lovable offbeat mom, Hazel (Black). Nathan, who turned sweet sixteen, has become empowered by his sexual adventures, and finding a role model in Stuart, also finds strength to lash out at the schoolboys who tease him. Mesmerizing and essential.

A great idea to start with

This was a shockng series but it lacked backbone and showed the characters in such bad light. Nathan was a self centered selfish young person, Stuart just used and manulated people and Vince was vacant and shallow. It was written by the guy who wrote and "Bob and Rose". I get the feeling it could have been written by someone who does like being gay and shows all the bad sides of being gay. This is why the USA version is so much better. I did not bother to buy this or the other series. This had so much potential and USA Showtime saw it and took it and for that I give this an extra star rating.

Being a big fan of Queer as Folk (both the British and American versions), I bought this with great expectations of much of what the original 2 dvd set offered. Unfortunately thats not what I got. The acting is still great but the story line has just become rediculous. With a Thelma and Louise scenario thrown in that was completely disappointing. That being said, it was still nice to see all the characters back in gear again. There is no reason why this 90 minute portion shouldn't be included with the original 2dvd set.
