Mike Donner sure outdid himself with Our Trespasses. He should be congratulated for succeeding where many others have failed. A hot, hot, hot sex video with acting and a real story. Finally, an ambitious porn that really pulls it off (pun intended) in all areas.

Cover model Scott Baldwin and Drew Andrews star as young lovers in the late 1970s. Scott is Jewish and pretty content with his sexuality. Drew is Catholic and plans on entering the priesthood. Therein lies the conflict. These two have a hot session in their car behind the church before going their separate ways.

Drew heads off to the seminary where he witnesses loads of seminarians sampling semen (Jordan is particularly scrumptious as he is ravaged in a broom closet). Time passes and Scott eventually ventures into the church and right into Drew. No, Drew isn't imagining his lost youth, he is face to face with his lover's lookalike son.

After some rough horseplay (Blue Blake, some warehouse boys and a bunch of toys) Drew and Scott pick up where they left off in the car twenty years ago - this time getting into some heavy fucking. (Now you know why this was considered controversial among some folk.) The action here really runs the gamut, with lots of romance tinged with rough manfucking. A choice video for both the avid collector or the occasional viewer, Our Trespasses is quite good indeed and one certainly worth trodding upon.

Well-meaning, but not quite a success

A sex video that also attempts to be a real narrative film with a message is laudable. Sadly, it doesn't quite succeed in either category. The drama, interesting if simplistic, is not carried off well (to be charitable, acting is clearly not what the people do), and the integration of the sex is clumsy. Much of the sex itself is poorly executed and filmed without skill, so it's not hot. Especially frustrating is that Scott Baldwin, one of the most prodigiously talented and sexiest guys in videos of this period (1996), is wasted and doesn't even seem very into it. The transfer to DVD, apparently from a videotape master, is not very crisp and occasionally has little tape glitches. Nice effort, but it could have been so much better.
